A couple of weeks ago, I came across a non-profit organization called Operation: Love ReUnited. OpLove, for short, is a 501(c) 3 non-profit organization that offers professional photography sessions for deploying military families fee-free, by professional photographers who volunteer their time and talent.
2 sessions, consisting of 1 pre-deployment or already deployed, and 1 ReUnited session at the homecoming of the soldier. The photographer sends a 4x6 album from the first session overseas to the deployed soldier at no cost to the family.
I love to help out our military, I am a volunteer for Soldiers' Angels which is a great organization, I encourage you to check it out! So I joined OpLove and have been approved and I am now an affiliated photographer for my area, specifically serving Whiteman Air Force Base. I am excited to be apart of this and to be able to give back in some way to those who serve in our military and sacrifice for us in order to keep America safe.
I will be adding a page here on my blog for OpLove, and I will post select photos taken at any OpLove photo sessions that I do. If you or a loved one are deploying, already deployed, or coming home soon, you can contact me (for Whiteman Air Force Base) if you are interested in a photo session, or you can also go to the OpLove website to find a photographer in your area.
**PHOTOS**
A couple weekends ago, I was on my way to do a Senior photo session, which unfortunately got cancelled due to the weather (I don't like you, snow!!), so I spent a weekend with my dad and stepmom at their place. I also needed to get some photos for a portraiture class I am currently taking, so they ended up being my subjects. Here are some of those photos:
Also, my husband and I took a trip to the Kansas City Zoo this weekend for a friend's birthday. I got a lot of photos there, these are some of my favorites!
