Photos from today

Today while over at my great Aunt's house going through the workshop, we found lots of old treasures! There are so many neat items that you can come across, some of which we are going to try to sell for her. Here are some photos of the things we found.

First was the Good Year sign, really awesome!

We also found these old glass oil bottles, which came out of a really neat metal cabinet that used to be at a gas station.  I thought the tops of the glass bottles were especially interesting. A few of them had dates on them from January 1922.

And last, was not something that was found in the workshop, but something that I found interesting in texture and color. Here are both versions, the B&W (which I like more) and the color.

Week Three 5.26.12

I am a little late posting week three. I took the photo last week, but with the holiday weekend and all the things going on, I didn't get to post it until now.
I've been working on my photos that I will have for sale in my booth at the Little Blue River Art Fest in Blue Springs, MO on June 8th and 9th.  My photo for this week is of the photos I have matted. I've matted over 100 photos! I have only a few of them showing in this photo, but they are my favorites. I hope that if you live in this area that you will be able to come out to this art fest and take a look at all the booths that are there! You can go to http://www.whiteoakplaza.com/ and click on Art Fest, to find out more about the event.

Dennis family photo session

Last saturday I did a family photo session for the Dennis family. It was really fun and I was able to get some great photos. Mine favorite photo, and I think it's their favorite as well, was the one at the end where, instead of smiling, we decided to do an attitutde shot. It was really fun, I absolutely love photo sessions like these!

05.20.2012 Week two

The photos I have to post for this week were taken at Unity Village after an enagement session that I did there. The first one I took because it was starting to get windy out and looked like it was going to rain. The clouds above the building looked like bubbles because of the wind.  The second photo was under the archway, I liked the light and the repetition of the arches.

5.12.2012 Week One

Last week I decided that I wanted to start taking a photo, or photos, weekly and posting them on my blog. I decided that it could be portrait photos, if I had a photo session I was working on, or just photos in general around my house, or other places, etc.

This is my first week and I chose some photos that I took of our tomato plant in our back yard. I thought that the texture of the leaves looked interesting, so here are a few photos.

Family photo session ~ April 28, 2012

I had the pleasure of working with the McCarl family for their family photos. Trina was actually the winner of the Mother's Day photo session for 2012. It was really fun working with everyone, it was a good time. I was also glad that the rain held out until just after we were finished with the session!

Here are some of my favorite photos from the session:

Today I was at home and while outside with the dogs I noticed bees flying around and landing on the dandelions in our yard. I decided to get my camera and see if I could get some photos of these bees. Here is what I came up with:

Day 39 ~ The Collision

Today I had an Op Love photo session with a family from Whiteman Airforce Base. They had two kids, and like most kids, they were full of energy and running around all over the park.  So during a short break I decided to photograph them while they were running around, so as I was snapping photos, I happened to catch their collision. After reviewing the photos, I thought it was pretty funny to see the photos just before and at the collision. Luckily, neither of them were hurt. So here are the photos that I captured before, leading up to, and the actual collision.

Day 38

I liked the way the clouds looked today, so I took the photo below. I've posted it in color and black and white, I'm not sure which I like better...

Day 37

Today it is overcast and kind of dreary outside. I have been reading chapters for my classes this week, so today's photo is one relating to that.

Day 36

Yesterday I was trying to caputre the sunset, today, I was up early enough to caputre the sky just before sunrise, so that you can still see a sliver of the moon.  Our dogs keep the same routine during the weekend mornings as they do the weekday mornings. So I'm normally up by 6:30am to 7am on the weekends, even though I would love to sleep in!  Sometimes I make my husband get up with them. :)
So here is my photo for today:

Day 35

Today I was going to capture the sunset, but I didn't really like the photos that I took. While I was taking photos of the sunset, some geese flew by, and so this is the photo that I ended up with today.

365 photo project

As you may have noticed, I am having a hard time keeping up with taking one photo per day. It wouldn't be that hard, except for I also have two classes this semester and therefore I have a lot of reading, writing papers, and studying to do, so most of my evenings are ate up with that. Not to mention work, which takes up a lot of time, if I didn't have to have the money, I would probably quit this job and just do what I like!

So anyway, I don't want to give up, but I may only be posting once or twice a week, depending on time, and weekends usually offer up the most time for me right now. So I will post photos every weekend, instead of every day.

Day 34 ~ Crisp morning

My photos today are taken on our back porch. It is a toasty 9 degrees outside this morning, the sun is shining, and actually, it is not too bad since the wind is not blowing.  This week has been mostly dreary cloudy days, so it is a nice change to have some bright sunlight, even if it is super cold out.

The first photo is of our green onions we planted last spring/summer. The second photo is of the shadows created by the sun shining on our deck, I thought it looked best in black and white.

Day 32 ~ Sunrise from my back porch

I am really early posting my photo today! I was able to capture the sunrise as viewed from my back porch. I took several photos of the sky before the sunrise.  So here are the photos:
